Struggles In Podcasting - What This Is

Greetings and salutations podcast people!

My name is Tim Phillippe. You may know me from "America! The Podcast", "Brews & The 'Boys", or many other podcasts and audio dramas. I'm the head producer of Shway Media - a podcast company I started in 2017. Since I started the network, I've had a lot of ups and downs - shows getting delayed, selling a show to a major network, that show getting canceled, creating new things.

But one major feat of strength, was trying to find time to get a handle on my mental health (something that, I cannot stress enough, has made me a better producer and person). When I made that leap, my life changed and it inspired me to want to start a series about my what I've learned and how I made Shway Media happen.

Flash forward to 2022, where I was hard at work on a lot of different podcasts and audio dramas - "America! The Podcast", "America! The Conversation", "We Were Horse Girls", "Once We Were Monsters" (coming October 2023), and "Politicize This" (coming July 4th, 2023) Because of all that work, I haven't got the chance to bring this project to live...until now.

Considering the occasion, I thought it would be appropriate to finally launch "Struggles In Podcast"!

What Is "Struggles In Podcasting"?

Well, right now it's a blog. Videos will be added to the TikTok and Instagram pages, as well as the new Shway Media Youtube Channel and a long form videos series/class will be out in Summer 2023 - that series/class will also be available on your favorite podcast app of course!

What You Can Expect

In this series, I will share everything I have learned about podcasting and all of the new things I continue to learn every day. I will also share the struggles I've had a long the way creating shows like "Brews & The 'Boys", "America! The Podcast", and all of the audio dramas coming in 2023 and 2024.

On the blog and in the videos, you'll find tips, tricks, and tools I use to help speed up my creative process and work flow. There's even some in-depth courses and free e-books in your future!
